My husband and I recently moved to Long Island, New York this summer. Another place that we've moved to without knowing a single soul. Thankfully we still have a lot of friends and most of my photo clients live close by in Manhattan. But does anyone else have a hard time moving somewhere new? I'd like to think we are getting better at it, but it still takes me a good 6 months to feel completely settled in a new area

One of my very first family photo sessions I ever did in Manhattan was with this family in Soho. I remember it well because I was a little nervous and was wearing one of my favorite shirts that had a pink dinosaur on it. Luckily the boys were really into dinosaurs and I got them to laugh and smile by basically scaring me with all their dinosaur roars!

What Having Cancer Taught Me

In 2016 I was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called Lymphoma. The next 5 months of chemotherapy would be some of the hardest physically and mentally I've had to go through, but like any trial there were lessons to be learned. Below I share just a few lessons I learned going through cancer.
